Use this Wordle generator in various ways in any classroom for increasing problem-solving and strategy skills. When using with young students, generate three or four-letter Wordles for students to attempt with partners. Provide a list of sight words if needed to avoid frustration. When teaching older students, develop Wordles to solve using vocabulary words, weekly spelling lists, science terms, or historical characters. LiveGap offers a suite of three online web tools, all available without registration. The first is LiveGap Charts, reviewed here. This chart creation tool is a very easy-to-use resource for creating and personalizing charts and graphs in several formats. The second resource is an editor for creating and testing HTML, Javascript, and CSS documents. The third tool is called an Icon Matrix. The Icon Matrix is a pictograph creator offered in several different formats. Each tool includes options to customize color, text, information, and more. Use the share icon found in each tool to download or share your work.

Bookmark and save LiveGap for a variety of classroom uses. Quickly create charts and graphs to represent information found in math problems, science experiments, or any other time you gather information. Share how to represent information in different ways by changing graph styles. Ask groups of students to create different kinds of graphs, then share their work with the class to compare the visual appearance of the information and determine the best format for sharing that type of information. Use visual gestures to drag or tap parts of the expression and move to the other side of the equation. Follow the directions to move multiple terms with one move. Use the dropdown boxes within the workspace to add videos, insert commonly-used formulas, and share with students. Take advantage of Graspable Math's tutorial videos to learn more about the many features available with this site. Creating an account isn't required; however, it allows members to save and share boards. Share boards within Google Classroom, by email, embed into a website, or use the unique URL provided.

Stay up to date and learn about the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover mission as it explores the surface of Mars. Follow links to learn about the four science objectives of the mission, view the timeline, and learn about the spacecraft. In addition, view raw images taken from Mars, observe a weather report, and listen to sounds from Mars' surface. Be sure to visit the site often throughout the mission as content is updated with the latest videos and observations.
In the Classroom
Include a link to the Perseverance Rover site on classroom computers for students to visit and view the latest updates from Mars. Consider using Google Jamboard, reviewed here, to create an ongoing class journal sharing observations and findings. Ask students to add a sticky note with new findings and information after exploring the site. Enhance learning by asking students to design a spaceship or rover that would explore one of the other planets. Use Google Drawings, reviewed here, as a starting point for students to create their drawing. Ask them to add text boxes with descriptions of their spaceship/rover and the reasoning behind their design. Miro includes many templates for creating flow charts, mind maps, and planning activities. After creating an account, add a new board. Use the dashboard to add notes, templates, add comments, upload items from your computer, and much more. Collaborate with others by sharing the URL for your Miro board. Free accounts allow you to include an unlimited number of team members and create three editable boards.

Ask older students to use Miro as a collaborative tool for projects. Have students use Miro to develop storylines that include links and images to tell the story of events in history or retell novels. Ask students to use Miro to create mood boards to share the different works of artists or demonstrate different architecture types. Undraw is an open-source resource for image designs to use with any application. Choose from a huge library of images available in PNG and SVG formats. Use the color generator to customize and change the image color to fit your needs. Although only a portion of each image changes color, the effect is significant and very helpful for various needs. Take advantage of the search feature to browse through the many available images that match your criteria. After selecting an image and color, click to open the picture and choose from options to download to your computer as an SVG or PNG file.
In the Classroom
Be sure to bookmark this resource for images for a variety of classroom uses. Include images from this site in your class newsletter or website. Select interesting images to use for creative writing prompts. Change the color in an image and ask students to compare the two images and reflect upon how the use of color changes an item's mood or tone. As the title states, this site converts PDF documents to Excel documents. Upload a file of any size from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive without having to create an account. Files remain on the site's server for six hours before being automatically deleted. Once converted, all information imports into an Excel file, and any tables in the original document become fully editable and formatted. The conversion speed depends on the file's size and server speed; our practice document was ready to use within a minute.

EzGIF offers a variety of tools for editing and sharing animated GIFs. Use the GIF maker to create animated GIFs using your uploaded images or video. Other tools allow you to crop, resize, reverse, split, and add text to your GIFs. Follow the easy directions for each part of the site to upload your image and complete the desired action. When finished, save the image to your computer.

Share an animated GIF to get student's attention! A cat reading a book is one way to begin reading time! Show any science concept a student should look at several times to see every aspect of the event, better yet, let students create an animated GIF using their own pictures to demonstrate the concept or show the steps of an experiment. Do you want to reveal portions of a video outlining the travels of historical expeditions, addition of the states to the US, or any other historical event captured in a video? Use a looping animated GIF! Every subject could use one of these GIFs to generate interest in a class activity or new content.Comments

Whimsical Mind Maps is a visual presentation tool offering concept maps in a variety of formats. Create appealing flowcharts, wireframes, sticky notes, and mind maps through the use of templates and intuitive editing tools. After signing in to your account, begin creating your mind map by choosing a template for your chosen format. Each format includes a dashboard with items to add and edit onto your page. Select the sharing icon to enable and disable features, including password protection, allowing comments, and creating a shareable link. Be sure to view the examples found on the site, including the interactive model on the home page to get a feel for the features available to you. Free accounts offer you the ability to create up to 4 free boards.

Assign students to "map" out a chapter or story. Assign groups to create study guides using this tool. Use this tool for literature activities, research projects, social studies, or science topics. Use this to create family trees or food pyramids in family and consumer science. Have students collaborate (online) to create group mind maps or review charts before tests on a given subject. Have students organize any concepts you study. They can color-code concepts to show what they understand, wonder, and question. Have students map out a story, plotline, or plan for the future. Students can also map out a step-by-step process (such as a life cycle or how to solve an equation). Use the wireframe option to create interesting images mimicking screen displays found on computers, phones, and mobile devices. Journey North is a citizen science program for collaborating and documenting the migration of animals and insects. Become involved by adding your images and sightings, or follow the site to view the observations of others through maps, images, and descriptions. Choose from a diverse selection of animals, including whales, earthworms, and many others to begin. Within each topic find information about the animal and their migration habits along with links to additional resources. Take your journey a step further and choose the live cam link to view webcams and animal videos from around the world. Make sure to check out the educator's section to find vocabulary, reading, and inquiry activities.

In the Classroom
Take advantage of this site to teach students about animal migration and the activities of scientists. Include a link to the site on classroom computers to follow updates and record sightings. Even if you don't participate by sharing information on the site, consider using the site as a model for observations in your area and possibly a mini project based learning unit. Use Microsoft Office or Google Docs to create a spreadsheet to record sightings including dates, images, and the person doing the sighting. As students view different animals, encourage them to research and learn more about them and share their learning by creating infographics using Canva Infographic Maker, reviewed here. Extend classroom technology use by having students include their infographics on webpages created using Carrd, reviewed here. Carrd is a simple yet attractive-looking tool for creating websites for even less tech-savvy users. Redefine classroom technology use and learning and ask students to use Odyssey, reviewed here, to design an interactive map including images, text, and other multimedia to tell the story of migration.

Use this site to help students (and you) understand how to complete various tasks when working with a variety of documents. Use In Pictures as a model to demonstrate how to present how-to guides, then enhance student learning by having students create their own how-to presentation based on your classroom needs. Ask students to create their guides using an easy website creation tool like Carrd, reviewed here, and augment classroom technology. Take advantage of the share feature included with each video to share a link or embed videos on your class website or student computers. These videos provide a wonderful opportunity for students to explore a variety of science topics that aren't always included in the science curriculum. As students find a topic of interest on the site enhance learning by asking them to research additional information, and then use Canva, reviewed here, and to modify their technology use by creating posters or infographics sharing their findings with their peers. Include student-created posters or infographics as part of an overall presentation using a portfolio-building site like about.me, reviewed here.
